Since founding Orbis in 2018, Teddy has grown the company into one of the largest independent mortgage brokerages in Canada, now expanding into the U.S. — a first for a brokerage of its kind. Under his leadership, Orbis has established a unique hybrid model that blends the flexibility of an independent brokerage with the infrastructure and support of a lender. His vision has created a platform that supports internal staff, underwriters, loan originators, and brokers coast to coast.
At the core of Orbis’ continued growth is Teddy’s commitment to delivering real value to brokers. Most recently, he introduced the first pension and savings plan for mortgage brokers in Canada — a groundbreaking move that sets a new standard for broker support, professionalization, and long-term financial planning in the industry.
Teddy’s extensive experience in mortgage lending — including nearly a decade at BMO, where he was recognized nationally for his production — informs Orbis’ strategic evolution. Personally, he has funded over $1.5 billion in mortgage volume across more than 5,000 loans, giving him deep insight into residential, commercial, private, and institutional lending.
With strong partnerships across North America and a deep understanding of both bank and alternative lending systems, Teddy continues to lead the charge in modernizing the mortgage experience for clients — and empowering brokers with the tools, resources, and recognition they deserve.
He holds a BA in Economics from McGill University and completed McGill’s Mini-MBA program.
